Working away and your food choices
I work away regularly and its not easy to keep on whatever plan your following, you can look at the menus and what to get locally but sometimes you just cannot face choosing wisely and temptation overcomes you!
Making time to prepare is key, especially if your away more than one night. Always check the menu as there maybe something low calorie that appeals to you.
Check whats local as well is there a shop up the road where you can get some picky bits to see you through.
Look at the rooms or make a call to the hotel to see if there is a fridge and prepare food before you go!
This time I decided to prepare food before I went, knowing there wasn't a fridge I utilised ice packs and a cool bag, packed up my dinner for two nights and lunch for two days.
As pictured above I prepared a Feta cheese salad, a whole 219 calories of heaven and it was just right too.
Recipe:
50g Pasta cooked and drained
Cup of Iceberg lettuce shredded
Cup of red onion finely sliced
30g Feta cheese
6 Cherry Tomato's quartered
Mix it all together in a tub and shake... there you have it easy to prep and filling too!!!
For the second night I picked up a tub of chicken Mug shot as I knew I would struggle to keep it cool for too long.
I made some Ham and Cheese bagel thins for lunch with some cucumber and cherry Toms to pick at.
Usually breakfast is included and most hotels serve yogurts and fruit, depending on your diet you could also go for the full English.
Hope this helps give you a little inspiration!
